I love to tell stories, especially about myself, so why not a blog. Although, I'm not so sure the stories are ever all that funny - and that's with the use of expressions and gestures. But hey, it's worth a try.
I love to tell people about the little things I try to do each day to decrease my impact on the earth. I truly believe it is our responsibility to look at each decision we make and think about how we could do it better, with less impact. That said, I also do not think we need to sacrifice style to make this happen. I have a friend that always tell me "you should blog about that", so here I am. A little blog about being eco in a chic world.
I don't pretend to be a perfect steward of the environment, but I do promise to do the best I can. I like to follow the principal that every little bits counts. I caught a clip of Alicia Silverstone (of all people) on The View a while back and she was talking about being vegan. The ladies on The View were really grilling her about it and she had the best response, not just to being vegan, but to anything you try in your life. She said that "veganism, like other positive actions you can take to benefit yourself and others, exists on a continuum of thought and action. You can go vegan now and forever, or you can just do it on Wednesday. either way, it's better than not doing it at all." I thought that idea was very refreshing. It seems like a lot of us try very hard to be perfect, especially in the nebulous "green movement". I say, scrap that, do what you can, when you can. And if you can, do a little bit more each day.
I will use this blog to share some fun ideas (and all their imperfections). Hopefully this blog will encourage you to be "a little eco" and to share some tips and stories of your own.
